I am happy to see that your bank is still making record profits and that you are still credited with doing an excellent job as president and CEO.

I trust that you remember me from our brief meeting in the summer of 2006. I came in to see you just before starting my last year of high school for an informational interview to help me decide how best to prepare myself for a career as an economist.

Now I am writing you again to let you know that I followed your advice about studying Economics and Mathematics at the University of Toronto and I will be graduating this May with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics. I also followed your advice about finding volunteer work that I find fulfilling and starting my own economic think tank with which I could conduct my own research and write my own opinion papers to publish on the Internet and in journals and newspapers.

I thank you again for the advice you gave me that I have confirmed to have been very wise.  My request now is for another fifteen minutes of your time. I wish to show you how well I have excelled in the areas of preparation that you told me were important six years ago, in the hopes that you could recommend that your human resources department grant me an interview for an appropriate position.
