Aim High!

We encourage you to become the best person YOU can possibly be in life, and to take full advantage of all of the opportunities you have to better yourself in the area of your calling. If not, as the years and opportunities pass by, you could have a lot of regrets. If you aim as high as possible in your area, you will be satisfied that you did not limit your potential with limited thinking.

Many young people are influenced by people speaking negativity into their lives and as a result do not become all they were capable of becoming. If you grew up around negativity it will take many conscious choices for you to set more challenging goals than what you originally believed you could achieve. But you can force yourself to do this, and it is worth it! When we say Aim High please do not this mixed up though - "high" could be what the world considers low. We define "high" here as doing the right thing.

ABOVE ALL ELSE - FIND YOUR CALLING!

You have a divine calling that, once you find it, will deliver the maximum amount of fulfillment possible for you in life. It's more valuable than finding silver or gold, or even winning the lottery, because you were created specifically to respond to that calling. Using this strategy can benefit anyone, but it will work in a special way for shareholders.

It may not be evident right away, so you may have to pursue other activities while you search for it. Be sure of this: it can be revealed to you so clearly that you can be certain. Some people find it earlier than others, but you can find it and be as certain of it as if you saw it written on a wall, and it is certainly worth seeking.

DO NOT LIMIT YOUR THINKING!

You may discover your general purpose and calling is to lead, for example. You may not know what else to take in school, so you may decide to become a teacher and lead high school students by teaching them. Your interest in political science and education in university could lead you to study that and teach civics and politics courses at a high school.

AN EXERCISE FOR YOU...

Try this exercise: Write down all of your goals, starting with the long-term ones. Then disregard what limitations upon your potential you believe exist and think about what is along the same lines as your goal, but one step above. Keep repeating this until you have gone as high as is possible with that goal. You may find some other goal that you would like to achieve but you did not think of before because it was something you did not think you could achieve. Keep this goal if you like it. Take some time to find out if it is for you. If it may be, prepare for it.

For instance, if you were interested in politics and leadership so you decided to become a high school teacher of civics and politics, write down department-head above it. Then vice-principal above that. Then principal above that. Then board of education administrator. Then trustee. Then politician. Then prime minister or president. Wherever you are led. It may be true that the original goal is exactly where you belong. Of course some people's original goal is exactly where they belong. But some people stay where they are or only prepare for that because they think that is the best they can do, or that they cannot get somewhere else where they would like to be.

Some teachers may not want to eventually move to a principal position or get into another area of public service like politics. Their calling may be to teach a certain age or group and stay in that area; they may not be called to lead other teachers. Being called to be a teacher of pre-school kids or any age is equally-important as becoming the prime minister or president, and it is equally-fulfilling for the person called to do that. The key thing is that everyone discovers what he or she was created to do; that results in you living a fulfilling life - living on purpose.

What we are challenging you to realize, is that you can get better in your particular area of calling beyond your wildest imagination, becoming better at it than you may at first think. This may not mean getting a so-called "higher" position in it - it may mean just getting better at being a custodian for instance. Or becoming a better artist. Or a better gospel singer. Or a better gospel rapper. This helps you prepare.

We will give you the following example of career advancement so you can understand, but please do not think we mean you have to get what your workplace calls a promotion or that it is necessarily a "better" position for you. That could take you outside of your purpose and calling as well.

The purpose of this example is to prevent you from limited thinking and making decisions to not prepare for your ultimate purpose, just because you do not think you will be able to get what is referred to as promotions along the way. The young leader that realizes they could eventually be a board trustee and then a politician (and has that desire) could decide to take certain courses in school that could prepare them for politics, like Economics for instance. Or, they could learn a second language helpful in politics - like French in Canada or Spanish in the United States. Thinking of a future in politics in this case can be additional motivation as well for not doing something that will look bad on your record if you ever run for office.

The key thing is for you to force yourself to prepare for your true, unhindered calling, and not to doubt you have the potential to achieve something you may be called to do and find fulfillment in, before even trying.

After you have written down your long-term goals, then write down the mid-term achievements that will get you there. Then the short-term achievements that will get you to the mid-term ones.

This website is the product of a goal to inspire people all over the world, with the initial limitation of not having access to expensive mass media like a television broadcast. It took a conscious decision to make a way where there was not one visible. You can do the same!
