FOLLOWING A GOOD LEADER

Who are you following? Are they happy with where they are going? Do they even really know where they are going? Why not follow people who know they are going to a good place? Even better, why wouldn't you follow who they are following, so if they lose sight of the leader you will not follow them astray?

Therefore, if you like where we (followers of Jesus) are going (a heavenly place...), would the smartest thing to do be to follow us, since we admit to following incorrectly sometimes? Or would the most intelligent thing to do be to follow whom we follow?

BE CAREFUL

Everything is fine. You are at peace. Now, imagine you were having THE MOST FUN risking your life doing a dangerous and exhilarating stunt. Picture it...picture the fun...picture the adrenaline rush! Now imagine you lost your leg doing that...or your life. Do you feel bad that you are bored and back to everything being fine? Be careful. My cousin just broke his foot jet skiing.

WILL YOU ALLOW THIS GUY TO MISDIRECT YOU?

Who are you allowing to direct you?
This man is pointing you in opposite directions. Is that a look of happiness and peace on his face?
Or is he laughing because you are foolish enough to be looking to him for direction (and he himself is going nowhere)?

And he is happily taking advantage of the opportunity to misdirect you and ask you to do the impossible: go right and left at the same time. If he truly believed it was best to turn right and left at the same time, why is he not already on his way? Are you blameless if you get torn apart trying to follow his advice (which is impossible)?

BREAKING FREE WILL HURT A LOT, SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

There is no doubt it will hurt a lot for the boy to disconnect his tongue from the pole, so what should he do?

Did this ever happen to you as a kid? It did to at least some of us growing up. How many of us are still there??? At some point you have to leave, even though it is painful, don't you? Or would you get married to the pole just to avoid the pain, and stay there your entire life? Some people do, especially when they have kids by accident...

Is that something to think about, before you risk sticking out your tongue near the pole and having that accident?

If it is not too late, why not let the truth set you free?

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY HE ANSWERS CORRECTLY...

1+1=2

If the teacher says he is wrong should he change his answer?

Do you, when doing what you think is right is unpopular?

What would you rather be - right, or popular? Do the right thing, or the popular thing? At one time killing and enslaving a whole race of people was popular.

By the way, at the end of the story, what do you think will happen?

DO YOU NEED TO FILL UP?

All of us run out of gas sometimes. Is it not important to remember to take a break and fill up when you do, and not just accept the fact that you have no gas and go nowhere? After all, do you not feel much better about yourself when you are on the go?

JUDGING A MAN WITHOUT HAVING MADE HIS SHOES...

They say not to judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes. Since none of us can walk in someone's shoes for a mile and experience their lives first hand, the only one that can really judge anyone would be the shoemaker, who understands what walking in the shoes he made would feel like. Isn't it a good thing that the shoemaker above is forgiving?

WHY NOT JUST CLEAN UP THE LEAVES AT THE END?

A boy turns to his father and asks, "What is the point of raking the leaves when there are more still on the trees? Why don't you wait until all of them fall so you only have to rake once?" The father says, "There are many things that we have to do over and over in life, son. In fact, if we do something for a worthwhile result, why would we only want to do it once?"

DOES DIGGING YOUR OWN GRAVE MAKE YOU HAPPY?

This man is digging his own grave. Quite pleasantly. If you think about it, don’t a lot of the things that bring us joy get us into trouble in the longer-run? Doesn't this fleeting joy eventually fade away, leaving only the grave? Maybe the challenge is to recognize the ways in which we dig our own graves, and try our best to stop.

BEFORE YOU DECIDED, DID YOU KNOW WHAT I HAD ON MY MIND?

Were you aware of the contributions I would make to mankind? Before you decided, did you know your daughter would need a brother or sister...and only I would be there for her?
Do you have any idea just how much I miss her?
Before you decided to never forgive me, did you know?
Did you consider all of those factors when you ranked me so low?
Decision-happy judges, whose role we often play, are you so sure you are wise enough to play judge today?
If you are judging are you ready to also be judged?
