SHE BELIEVES SHE CAN FLY

So a girl comes and tells you that she can fly…
And you say that she is a liar.
But the truth is that you do not know if what she says is true or not. Maybe she has some supernatural powers. Maybe she honestly does believe she can fly. This is very difficult: being happy for our children because they pursued their calling, even though it was not our calling. Imagine if all of us forced our children to do the things that we had wanted to do but were not able. Would we be truly happy, and if so, would they? Couldn't they blame us for the rest of their lives, or themselves for listening to our heart and not theirs? Whose heart should they follow? Is their heart beating for us? Even though we made them and raised them, do we make their heart keep beating?

It is interesting how we are so fascinated with others' misfortune. Do you slow beside an accident only out of concern to see what happened? If we look too long at someone else's accident, aren't we increasing the chances that the same thing happens to us? Is it not smart to keep our eyes focused on where we are going?
