Dear Mr. Vito:
I
am writing you to ask you for fifteen minutes of your time because you are
president and CEO of the most profitable financial institution in
As you know, in their last year of high school students have to make serious choices regarding their future. I am very interested in pursuing a career in economics, and working as an economist for a successful bank such as your own some day would be a dream come true. Therefore, before I choose the post-secondary institution I attend and the program in which I enroll, I would like to know if you could spare some time out of your busy schedule to give me your perspective on what your bank looks for in terms of educational background for an economist.
As the president of the bank, I value your opinion most highly and fifteen minutes to ask you questions will mean a great deal for me as I contemplate a four-year commitment to a school which will start a career that will last decades. I am also looking for any other advice you may be able to provide to an aspiring economist my age.
I will follow-up on this letter with a phone call in exactly one week. I realize it may be hard to get through to you on the phone, so if you could get one of your assistants or colleagues to contact me to arrange a time for me to come in to meet you sometime in August before I start school, I invite you to do so. My phone number is 416-Call-Me and my email address is john@johneconosmith.com . Thank you for considering my request.
Sincerely,
John Econosmith
