Plan Ahead!
Who has a better chance at becoming anything tomorrow? The one who decides today, or the one that decided 10 years ago? For instance, who has a better chance of becoming a doctor or prime minister in 10 years...the person that decides now or
the person that decided 10 years ago?
The person who decided 10 years ago can
try to get the right education, work in the right jobs, and make the right connections.
The person that decides last minute might get so discouraged about the things they did not do correctly in the past (which they should not, but realistically might) that they
might give up, and definitely not achieve that goal.
It is easier to become a professor if you were paying attention in class since
kindergarten, than if you started to attend class regularly and pay attention in your last year of your undergraduate degree. It is possible to still get a
doctorate and if this is your calling we encourage you to pursue it and you
can, it could just be more challenging. T
Obviously you cannot go back to kindergarten and start paying attention, but why not think of now as kindergarten and 20 years from now as when you should have achieved certain goals?
Why not think about what you should be doing today to achieve those goals?
If you really want to get
deep, why not think about where you are going to spend eternity - it should
play a big role in determining what you do now, should it not?
